Byscane Crystal is a ten-part fantasy serial chronicling the tale of two seemingly insignificant monks. Banished from Portingale Fort by their fellow Ontons, Proff Lorth and his grunt, Slen, are certain to meet their death in the Thosan desert. But as destiny would have it, they soon become entangled with a beautiful princess, an ancient prophecy and a mystical sword. CHARACTERS
Slen
Slen was just a boy when he came under the care of the kindly Proff Lorth, who named him and raised him as a monk of the Onton Circle. Passionate about truth and righteousness, his insatiable curiosity sets him at odds with his fellow monks, forcing condemnation and eventually, excommunication. But Slen soon learns his destiny doesn't lie in the fort at Portingale. A sword, a princess, and his own heart will be the keys to his future.
Torna Echman
After the death of her father, King Echman, at the tender age of eighteen, Torna inherits the crown of Byscane. But her rule barely begins before the evil Lord Rancer steals one half of the Byscane crystal and attempts a coup to retake the throne. In order to save her kingdom, Torna embarks on a quest to find the crystal's missing half. She encounters two monks banished to death in the Thosan desert and is swept into an epic battle of good vs. evil.
Lorth Luxtree
A former knight, Lorth Luxtree was one of seven entrusted to protect and defend the Byscane throne. When tragedy struck, he abandoned his sword, swore allegiance to the Onton creed and assumed the life of a monk. Years later, influenced by the pure simplicity of his young grunt, Slen, Lorth confronts his inner demons head-on, proving that a true knight will always rise from the ashes of defeat.
Ryan Rancer
The son of Byscane's most powerful lord, Ryan Rancer is ambitious and ruthless. Obsessed with obtaining Princess Torna's hand in marriage, he chases her across the Thosan desert and into Yunting Town. His base desires feed into the overall plan of Mother Kagon and the witches of Wiccane, facilitating a return to the powers of darkness once banished under the reign of Van Kroust.
Lord Rancer
In charge of the royal armory, Lord Rancer rose to prominence as one of King Echman's most trusted and loyal advisors. Yet his ties to Mother Kagon and her ancient witchcraft remain obscure, even as he incites a coup over one half of the king's jewel. While lacking his son's impulsivity, Lord Rancer nurses both a knowledge of black magic and an incurable lust for power.
Kelilah
Kelilah was sold into slavery at a young age. Though her circumstances offer little hope of obtaining freedom, she draws strength from the Cross Tenants, hiding the texts deep in her heart. This inner fortitude helps her survive the rigors of bound servitude and the cruel treatment of the merchants..
