BB Ace did a fantastic job, as always, of creating a world of their own in The Ontons and the Princess. This first book in the Byscane Crystal series is the perfect beginning to the ultimate quest! The characters are a big part of what makes this story so interesting. They are each unique in their own way and in the personal dilemmas they struggle with. Whether it be inner strife or a mission to save an entire kingdom, they must band together to conquer the uprising of evil. What I loved the most about this book was the descriptive writing and setting! I felt as if I were there, walking alongside the characters, seeing the people, places, and other-worldly creatures as they did. Whether it be the powerful kingdom of Byscane, the scorching Thosan desert, or the ominous Stairway of Fire, it’s as if you can see and touch every detail. If you’ve been looking for a good fantasy novel that will keep you turning pages, The Ontons & the Princess is the perfect place to start your next adventure!

From the beginning the story catapults the reader into an exciting world of man versus creature, and good versus evil. Although, as with most first books, it introduces us to the characters and their missions, it also jumps right into the action and the promise of an exciting adventure. Adults and teens alike, will truly enjoy this book.
