The beautiful Viola Jackson shares an unexpected connection with Combs: the Reinbue Towers. Although much of her background remains shrouded in mystery, he is nevertheless intrigued by her unreserved nature, frank honesty, and warmth of spirit. The two find themselves inexplicably drawn to the towers, as well as to each other, intertwining past tragedies and future dreams.

Even so, Radcliffe's dogged determination fosters several indirect skirmishes and ultimately leads to a final confrontation.
